The emphasise in this advanced ballet class is on alignment of the supporting leg. In contrast to some other ballet techniques, Holistic Ballet asks you to keep your weight on your heel with your sit bone aligned directly on top of it. This is to activate and strengthen your inner thighs, hamstrings and core muscles and to create balanced muscle tone and therefore lowering the risk of injury.
Additionally, the exercises in this class are more fluid and include more port de bras than the beginner and intermediate level classes.
