Programme*: 30 min warm up at the barre  | 90 min study of choreography and performance skills (hrs 30 min Saturday ),

1-hour deep stretching (Saturday)

After having worked on the Giselle solo of act I, we are going to study the dance of the Willis, supernatural beings, that are 'the spirits of virgin girls who died before they married' (Wikipedia) of act II.

The first part is eerie, showing the sadness of the girls but as we continue, the dancing becomes more 'ruthless and hateful'. What makes it so dramatic and powerful is the synchronised movements of the corps de ballet that we are going to recreate in this workshop. It will be a very intense experience.

The more advanced students will also work on the solo of the second half-soloist. It is short but requires strong technique and ethereal port de bras.

We are going to follow this version (copy & paste into your browser): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVxDywPS8jM

and working on the parts of 1:10min - 2:53min, 6:11min – 7:16min, 7:54min – 8:22min, and the half-solo from 3:36min - 4:36min
