What To Expect
We will begin with a general-level ballet barre and a small jump in the centre as the warm-up.
After that, we are going to study the 4th Movement of George Balanchine's Symphony in C, also called Palais the Crystal.
I chose this particular piece not only because I love it energy but it also offers us the opportunity to work on steps that are common in ballet classes so you will benefit greatly.
I used to dance the demi-soloist part in the 4th movement as well as the soloist part of the 3rd movement at the Staatsoper Berlin in 1996.
We will slow down the music a little and make modifications where needed. You can wear regular ballet shoes or pointe shoes.

Symphony in C, Deutsche Staatsoper unter den Linden, Berlin 1996
What You Will Learn
Together with other enthusiastic amateur dancers, you are going to experience a rehearsal situation similar to that in a professional ballet company. You will get the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the choreography before the intensive through the pre-study video I create for you.
You are going to practise:
• fast footwork
• port de bras
• artistry
• dancing in synchronicity
• Balanchine Style (I teach you what I was taught, however, I am not a Balanchine-trained dancer)
As this piece is quite short, we will practise the steps on both sides. Therefore, please familiarise yourself with both sides, A and B, in the pre-study video.

please email me to access the pre-study video
