About The Workshop
In this short Easter workshop, we will tackle the variation of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker.
I danced this role in the 2nd and 3rd years of my professional career with the State Opera Berlin (today's Staatsballett Berlin). And I am looking forward to sharing the experience with you.
We will modify the choreography to our needs.
What To Expect
The Sugar Plum Fairy solo has a delicate and elegant quality to it which can only be achieved with masterful technique, strength, and stamina.
We will get a taste of it, as we work Marius Petipa's choreography in the style of the Imperial Ballet of the 19th Century.
You can wear flat or pointe shoes. You can also wear a tutu if that helps you dance.
How You Will Learn
Step 1: the choreography
Step 2: details of the leg, arm, and head movements and positions
Step 3: adding artistic expression, how to pace yourself and how to project to the audience

Pre-Study
For you to get the most out of the workshop, I created a pre-study video. I will send you the link to the video once I received your payment.
The video proved to be extremely helpful not only as preparation but also as a recap tool during and after the workshop.
